First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Five9.
Account Executive
The first few interviews went well, but then I met the head of sales. The interview turned into an interrogation about which clients I could poach from my current job. When I expressed ethical concerns, the interviewer started mocking my salary and calling me unsuccessful. It felt like they're desperate for clients and not growing. The focus was on getting quick wins by stealing clients, and when I wouldn't agree to that, I was met with unprofessional insults from this leader.
- Can you list the clients you've worked with and identify which ones you could bring over from your current company?
Commercial Account Executive
The process was really disorganized. After an initial screening, I was moved on to meet with the hiring manager. They seemed to think I was a good fit and wanted to move forward with three more interviews: one with peers, one with leadership, and one with senior leadership. The hiring manager wasn't clear about what the next steps were, and I had to follow up a bunch of times just to get those interviews scheduled. After those three interviews, including one with the VP of the org who said I'd be a good fit, I got ghosted. I even reached out to the hiring manager again and heard nothing back.
- Can you describe your sales experience?
Sales Executive
The interview process is very thorough but everyone I met with was extremely positive about working for the company. It is clear that Five9 treat their employees with the utmost respect.
- What gives you confidence you'll be successful in this role?
