It's a multi-stage process. First, you'll interview with a partner and some associates. Then, there's a second round with more partners and associates, plus a 3-hour written test. The final stage involves interviews with even more partners and associates. The whole thing is pretty long, you basically have to meet everyone before you can get started. It's good to see who you might be working with, but it's also kind of bad because you never know who you're going to get or when – by the end, you're more stressed and anxious than when you began. You definitely need to do your homework beforehand: check the company's performance, research its clients, and see who has worked on what projects to make the most of the one-on-one meetings. The written test has four parts: analyzing a company's balance sheet and its performance over time, data analysis, proofreading, reading about 15 press articles and summarizing them all for senior management, and coming up with a strategy for a company that was in the press.

Weird, pretentious, unaccommodating. I went through the process because of the reputation of the company. Seems like relatively "high-profile" work. But you're not exactly compensated well and the hours and stress appears very high - basically not worth it. The employees I met - and I had to have met nearly a dozen in the process - were complete knobs and I wouldn't have gone near the company with a bargepole.

I applied through my university system and got a call for an interview. I felt the interview went well and got a reply to my thank you email. Two weeks later, I hadn't heard anything, so I followed up with the HR person. I wrote again another week later and have never heard back. I know they can't contact everyone who applies, but it feels like they should have said something to me since I interviewed face-to-face with two of their employees.

I applied by sending an email and heard back the next week to schedule a phone call. Turns out there was a mix-up, and I was actually being considered for a role at the wrong office. The recruiter was cool about it while we sorted things out. Even though the office I wanted wasn't hiring, she offered to pass my resume along. Despite the outcome, it was a good chat and I got to learn more about the company.
