Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Finsbury.
Associate
So I had this interview that started out great in NYC, but then it went downhill fast. They had me do this super long take-home assignment that I did all weekend. After I sent it in, the recruiter ghosted me for like three weeks, even after I emailed and called multiple times. Then, out of nowhere, almost a month later, they asked me back for a final interview with two MDs. I asked the recruiter for a timeline this time, and she promised I'd hear back in a week. Guess what? Another three weeks of silence. Turns out the recruiter quit and nobody bothered to follow up on her candidates. I finally got in touch with the head of HR, who told me the job was already filled. I asked for feedback, but got nothing. It was incredibly unprofessional and a total communication breakdown. Definitely left a bad impression of Finsbury.
- Can you tell me about a recent IPO that you've been following?
Associate
I applied by sending an email and heard back the next week to schedule a phone call. Turns out there was a mix-up, and I was actually being considered for a role at the wrong office. The recruiter was cool about it while we sorted things out. Even though the office I wanted wasn't hiring, she offered to pass my resume along. Despite the outcome, it was a good chat and I got to learn more about the company.
- Why are you interested in strategic communications?
Associate Director
it was efficient and timely and thorough - we got to meet several team members for one on one conversations after a phone screening interview. there's a writing assignment after the interview process, also.
- What makes you want to work in an agency setting?
