The entire hiring process dragged on for about three months. There were 5 interview rounds and a take-home test, which wasn't too tough. Strangely, after these 5 interviews, they got in touch to do reference checks (my references apparently said great things), and then came back with, "Oops, we forgot to mention there's one more interview with the C-level." Before we could even have that last chat with the C-suite, they decided I wasn't a fit. To me, this really shows that management isn't sure what they're looking for and, for a startup, they move way too slowly. It would be better if they could just wrap things up faster and not waste everyone's time.
- What makes you want to join this company?
Account Administrative Associate
I was originally offered a CSR position, but I felt the Account Administrative Associate role was a better fit. The interview was great and very quick/easy. It was a bit confusing on some of the interview time. I gave my availability, and they didn't have any time slots available which became a lot of back and forth. I'd recommend having the interviewer's time available be given ahead of time to allow interviewees to adjust their schedules to meet at least one of the time slots.
- What does good customer service mean to you?
Customer Success Associate
The whole thing took about three weeks. It began with a quick call, then an in-person chat where they tested if I could do the basic stuff. The final interview was with the hiring manager or someone similar. They kept asking if the pay was okay, which it was. Just a heads-up, don't fall for all the corporate talk. They might have someone internal or another candidate in mind, but they still have to go through the motions. You might think you nailed it, but then they ghost you for a week and give you a vague "We'll get back to you." It's unprofessional. Find a place that actually values you.
- Can you share an instance where you had to manage a challenging client and what steps you took to resolve the situation?
- Describe a situation involving a difficult client and how you handled it.
- How would you approach resolving a problem with a client who is difficult to work with?
Accountant
I was contacted by a recruiter. We had a phone screen, then an interview with the hiring manager, followed by a director-level interview. After that, there was a take-home assessment that was actually useful for learning some technical stuff, but overall it was too basic. The final round was abruptly canceled, which was the most annoying part because the recruiter kept telling me how well things were going and got me ready for it. Then, out of the blue, it was canceled the day before because they 'signed another candidate,' even though the job has been posted for months. I have a feeling this might happen to others too.
- Can you tell me about your leadership style?
- How have you approached team management?
- Describe your process for establishing new workflows.
