I sent in my resume and got an interview invite about three weeks later. It was a panel interview with 8 people: the supervisor, a community relations rep, a parent volunteer leader, a community advocate, two elementary school principals, and someone from HR. They had a set list of questions and each person asked me one. The interview was only 30 minutes long, so I had to be quick and to the point with my answers. Even though HR said I did well, I never heard back from the hiring department, which was a bummer.

i attended a job fair hosted by the district where schools looking to hire had booths and conducted interviews on the spot. These interviews usually serve as initial screenings, but sometimes the interviewer might bring in another administrator for more detailed questions or might schedule an onsite or virtual interview with team members.

The interview process really depends on the school, it's not the same everywhere. Out of the 7 schools I interviewed with, I ended up getting offers from 5. Some interviews were just a phone call with an administrator, while others were on Google Meets with a group of teachers. For one particular school, I had to put together and present a demo minilesson using Google slides.

  • What are your thoughts on how you approach classroom differentiation?

FCPS has a history of leaving job openings listed long after they have been filled. After I applied and waited a few weeks, I received a generic rejection stating they hired someone before my application was even received. This is incredibly incompetent for an automated system where my application was submitted instantly. They didn't update their job board for weeks and then admitted their unprofessionalism in writing. EDIT: This happened on several applications with FCPS. GlassDoor took down my review because apparently "multiple positions" aren't a thing at FCPS. Good for them.
