First I had an initial chat with the recruiter about the job, the company vibe, and what they were looking for. Then I had another interview with the hiring manager who went into more detail about the job duties, how the team works, and how my experience fits with what they need.

I had an in-person interview at their office. The questions were pretty straightforward and not hard. They also had me create a few outfits using the clothes they had there. They offered snacks before and after the interview, and everyone was really nice and easy to talk to, not intimidating at all.

Behavioral

I had a screening call. I was a bit nervous after not interviewing for a few years, but was really excited about the job listing. The recruiter said that she would follow up with any next steps. I initiated contact 2 weeks later and was told the salary was being revisited to at least 20k lower and was told I would hear more about that within a day. A few weeks later I reached out to see if the job was still available. The recruiter never responded, but later that day I got a template email: "Thank you for your interesting in joining FabFitFun. While we have received your application, we regret to inform you that company goals and initiatives have shifted and will no longer be moving forward with this search." types and grammar errors and all. I found the experience to be very unprofessional. I think it was good that this happened because it raised a lot of red flags for me.

Behavioral Technical Coding

The interview process started with a screening call with HR. Then, I had interviews with managers. After that, there was a timed coding exercise. The final stage was a technical interview that included code review and systems design. Overall, it seemed like a reasonable process and the people were nice. However, in the end, I just got an automated email from their recruiting app with a "no-reply" address, no feedback, just stating I wasn't selected. Reflecting on it, I wondered if they actually have a good company culture that values people. I was going to reply to ask for feedback or a reason, but seeing the "no-reply" address made me feel it wasn't worth the effort.
