& Process

A recruiter reached out based on my LinkedIn and we had an initial chat to see if I met the basic requirements. Then, I interviewed with the hiring manager and someone in a similar role. Both of them talked a lot, which made me think they weren't sure what they were looking for. After that, I got a task to do a competitor analysis and had a week to finish it. The task wasn't great, especially for a company that should be good at competitive intelligence. Getting clarification was through the recruiter, and it felt like nobody really knew what they wanted. I did the analysis, including recommendations and a full industry assessment. After I sent everything in, I had to present my findings. Then... silence. I tried contacting both the recruiter and the hiring manager, but no response. They ghosted me. The job posting stayed up for another two weeks before being taken down. I suspect they used my analysis and recommendations without acknowledging me. Dishonest company.

It was a 4 round process. First was a recruiter call, then a technical screen with a Data Engineer and a Data Scientist. After that, there was a panel interview, and the final round was with HR, which was a behavioral interview lasting about 45 minutes. The offer came through about 3 weeks later, and it was a nice process overall.

The interview process was long and then they ghosted me. They initially advertised the role in the UK, then changed it to the US. Two months later, it was reposted in the UK. I had five video calls with nice people and was asked to complete a task. I sent them the slides, but after weeks of trying to get in touch, I heard nothing. They've continued to post the job on LinkedIn, and the New York-based recruiter isn't replying to my messages. Honestly, even if they offered me the job and a lot of money tomorrow, I wouldn't trust them. I intentionally made a deck without linked Excel data in the charts and graphs, focusing on talking points rather than giving them the full picture, given it was a real business scenario. I even put a copyright on the deck, though it probably didn't help.

Interviewing at ETS is an option if you like: 1) 5 rounds of interviews with peers and the CFO, 2) constant calls from the recruiter to set up the next round, followed by complete silence after all rounds are finished, 3) no clear idea of what's next in the process, 4) an Excel test on a strange interface (yes, they test all finance applicants, even those with 20 years of experience, on Excel), and 5) no email response to my inquiry about my application status a week after my final round with the CFO. I got a generic rejection email about 6 weeks later, as if I hadn't already figured out I didn't get the job. Don't waste your time here.
