First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at ETS.
IT Intern
I applied through a special program at my school and was contacted by phone for an interview a few weeks later. It was a pretty relaxed interview, I spoke with the internship coordinator, and then two departments that were interested in me. All fit/behavioral type questions, going over my resume. Everyone was very nice.
- Tell me about a time you faced an issue while working in a group.
Intern
Got an interview invite about two weeks after applying. It was a quick 30-minute screening call. They asked general questions, nothing technical or behavioral. They gave feedback pretty fast.
- What is your current academic standing?
- What areas are you keen to explore and learn about?
- Could you describe your skills and capabilities?
Intern
So first, I talked to an HR person. Then, they set up another interview for me with a researcher. It felt pretty relaxed. Neither interview went for too long, like 20 minutes on average.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- Walk me through the research you've detailed on your CV.
