I had an online interview that lasted about 30 minutes. They didn't ask for a self-introduction and went straight to the questions. They said they'd let me know the results, but I had to email them to find out. If I move forward, the next step is an in-person interview with the manager.

After applying, I first had to write a letter about why I wanted the Management Trainee role. Then, I got an email to prep a proposal/ppt based on a case study. The first round was a group interview. We had to build a bridge with paper and tape within a time limit. Interviewers asked who did the best and worst in the group. Then, we discussed the case study proposal and presented our ideas. After that, there were usual questions like 'why this company?'. The second round was a one-on-one interview, more focused on the company and me, with some behavioral questions.

  • I was asked to explain why I wanted to apply for the Management Trainee position.
  • I had to discuss with my groupmates to decide whose proposal was the best.

Presentation Behavioral

I spent a lot of time preparing and presenting my work to a new owner who seemed to lack experience and was quite arrogant. It was disappointing because I felt I had put a lot of effort into my projects, only to present them to someone who didn't seem to grasp the role. I regret doing it, as in total I had 3 interviews and still didn't really understand what they were looking for. The owner also needs to realize that interviews are a two-way street, and I'm evaluating them just as they're evaluating me. I wouldn't suggest working for Esquel with this person in charge.

There were 2 interviews, the first one was with HR, and the second one was with the Director you would be working under. The questions were mainly about your career goals and your past experience. It was best to highlight your technical background in merchandising and your communication skills. Understanding the company's culture and its environmental contributions, as well as the chairman's achievements, is a plus.
