Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Esquel Apparel.
Management Trainee
After applying, I first had to write a letter about why I wanted the Management Trainee role. Then, I got an email to prep a proposal/ppt based on a case study. The first round was a group interview. We had to build a bridge with paper and tape within a time limit. Interviewers asked who did the best and worst in the group. Then, we discussed the case study proposal and presented our ideas. After that, there were usual questions like 'why this company?'. The second round was a one-on-one interview, more focused on the company and me, with some behavioral questions.
- Regarding the group handicraft activity, who do you believe performed the best?
- I was asked to explain why I wanted to apply for the Management Trainee position.
- I had to discuss with my groupmates to decide whose proposal was the best.
Manager
They have a test, then a long one-on-one interview with the line manager after work hours. They talked a lot about company culture and how people work there. After that, there was a second round with HR where I had to prepare a small presentation and explanation. Finally, another one-on-one interview with the line manager.
No confirmed questions were included in this interview report.
Management Trainee
The process involved checking university experience and personality. They were looking for a certain attitude and personality. There was an interview with HR and then with the line manager, after which they made a decision. It went smoothly overall but wasn't super impressive. The HR person was very nice, but the process felt a bit traditional with clear steps.
- Can you share your experiences from university and any related work history?
- What about your university background and any experience you might have that's relevant?
- Describe your attitude.
