So, first I had this intro call with the recruiter, then there was a technical test with like 4 tasks, split into 2 theory and 2 practical ones. After that, I had an interview with the lead, and finally, there was a culture fit interview.

It was a 90-minute interview with three people. They asked me about my master's paper and some basic front-end knowledge. Since it's a graduate-level position, it wasn't too difficult, and we also discussed the technical testing that's part of the interview process.

After applying, I didn't have a phone screen. Instead, a couple days later, I got an email with the first test. It was a link to a document with about 30 questions to answer in 1 hour, and then email them back. Two days after that, I got a second email with another test. This one was a coding challenge where I had to use the Google API to parse location data from a CSV file, with a 1.5-hour time limit to email the solution back. A few days later, HR called me. They said my submission was great and asked me some simple behavioral questions. I mentioned my salary expectations, which were about 25% higher than their offer and the same as my current job. I said I was open to negotiating based on other benefits like holidays and bonuses. They said they'd check with the hiring manager but I never heard back.

Technical Coding

The interview process involved a phone screen, followed by a take-home assessment where I had to SSH into a VM and complete several tasks. Then there was a technical interview with the manager and tech lead, and another technical interview with the manager and a software development manager. They offered me the role but wanted to pay 20-30k under market value because of their 'skills matrix/banding.' The managers seem outdated, having been there 7-12 years, and require managerial qualifications for market-rate pay. I suggest not wasting your time as they will likely underpay you.
