First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Epos Now.
Engineering Technician
There was one interview that was an hour and a half long, which included a Minesweeper coding challenge and questions about systems and networking. Afterward, I had the chance to ask questions about the company and the department.
- Could you tell me about the Minesweeper code challenge?
- What systems and networking questions did you ask?
Implementation Consultant
EPOS now hires with a company called Recruitment Junkie. You first do a quick video interview with someone over Google Meet. It probably takes 15-30 minutes at most. Very friendly and really helps you understand the jobs available. Then if you pass that level you are referred to an in person interview. The in person interview was very informative and you can see what the environment is like. Afterwards the hiring manager or whoever you met with follows up with the Recruitment Junkie Recruiter, they provide all the notes about how the hiring manager thought of you and then offer the position or not.
- In what ways do you distinguish yourself from other applicants?
Software Engineer
A recruiter reached out to me. They sent over some questions about software architecture, algorithms, data structures, and Linux, mostly sorting questions. I sent the answers back and then had a two-hour interview with the head of development and another engineer. They wanted me to code parts of Minesweeper with OOP, and I could pick my language. They also asked some Linux commands. I think I messed up some parts due to pressure and time, but it was okay. They weren't super friendly, and I felt like I didn't fit the team vibe. I heard back the next day they weren't moving forward with my application.
- Could you develop the necessary classes for the Minesweeper game?
- How would you develop the constructor and implement some methods, specifically using recursion?
- What are some common Linux commands?
Salesforce Administrator
The interview process had 2 stages. The first stage was a phone call, which was a very casual chat with Roger Morris about my experience. The second stage took about a month. It was competency-based questions. I was called to their Sheffield office. A lady met me and took me to a conference room where 3 other people were on a video call: Roger, someone named Tom (I think a developer), and an HR person. I expected a face-to-face interview, but only one person was physically present, and the audio quality for the video call was poor, making it hard to hear and respond quickly. I would have gone to Norwich if needed for a face-to-face, but the key decision-makers were on video. They did make me feel comfortable in both stages. Even though it was a junior role, they seemed to have high expectations for someone with limited project experience. I trust they made the right hire. Wishing them and the new hire good luck.
- Can you share an instance where you had to step outside your usual team duties?
- Could you describe a time you faced and resolved an issue, either in Salesforce or from your past work experience?
