First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Epos Now.
Software Engineer
After a quick intro, I got thrown right into some exercises. They had a mix of easy and hard problems, all focused on implementing functions for a standard matrix class.
- Can you share some information about yourself?
Software Engineer
A recruiter reached out to me. They sent over some questions about software architecture, algorithms, data structures, and Linux, mostly sorting questions. I sent the answers back and then had a two-hour interview with the head of development and another engineer. They wanted me to code parts of Minesweeper with OOP, and I could pick my language. They also asked some Linux commands. I think I messed up some parts due to pressure and time, but it was okay. They weren't super friendly, and I felt like I didn't fit the team vibe. I heard back the next day they weren't moving forward with my application.
- Could you develop the necessary classes for the Minesweeper game?
- How would you develop the constructor and implement some methods, specifically using recursion?
- What are some common Linux commands?
Software Developer
I was all set to start a senior developer job, but they rescinded the offer on my very last day before I started, citing "insufficient references." This happened because they used a custom reference form with many detailed questions and ratings. One of my references gave the bare minimum legally required (like they did for everyone), and another gave a glowing review. Instead of checking my third reference, they just did this. The offer was pulled at midnight on my final day of notice, leaving me unable to stay with my current employer. It initially seemed like a great company, but now it just feels petty and unprofessional. STAY AWAY!
- Could you elaborate on your understanding of Dependency Injection?
