First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Encompass Health.
Registered Nurse
I applied online and got a call within two days. The interview was set up for the same week. They gave me a tour of the facility during the interview. The questions were basic, no scenarios. It was an easy-going interview. I got a call back the same week with an offer.
- What are your goals?
- What makes you interested in working for encompass?
Physical Therapy Assistant
Started with a recruiter interview and screening. If I passed that, I moved on to an interview with the supervisor. They were good communicators throughout the process. The whole thing lasted about 30 minutes and involved one supervisor and two other therapy staff members. I'd suggest being ready to ask them some questions too.
- Can you describe a situation where you had to handle a conflict?
IT Service Desk Agent
Had one interview with HR and then three more with different team members/supervisors/the manager. Some interviews were in person and some were virtual. Nothing too technical, mostly behavioral questions. Overall it was a good experience, but it did take a fair amount of time to hear back between each interview.
- Could you tell me about yourself?
- Can you describe a situation where you dealt with a frustrated user?
- How do you handle working under stressful conditions?
Occupational Therapist Assistant
So I interviewed for the COTA job at Encompass in Mechanicsburg. Honestly, it felt like a bait and switch. When I got there, the HR person said we were waiting for the nursing manager. I was confused why a nursing manager would interview for a therapy role, and she explained it was 'a therapy position under the nursing department.' When the nursing manager came, they told me more. As they explained the job tasks, it became clear I wouldn't be doing COTA work but more like a nursing tech. The job ad misrepresented the position. Based on what they said in the interview, I wouldn't get to provide skilled treatment to patients.
