So, the interview was supposed to be 1 hour and 15 minutes, but it ended up going for way over 2 hours and 20 minutes. Honestly, the interviewer seemed a bit dismissive sometimes, which made me wonder why we kept going if they had already decided. I followed up twice and then got rejected, but like, no formal communication or any feedback at all. I do appreciate them spending time with me, but it makes me question why they do such long interviews if they aren't even considering the candidate seriously. If it goes that long, it feels like there's potential, maybe even worth another round to really see what I can do. Plus, people deserve to be let down properly and respectfully. A formal rejection email with some feedback would be way more professional and keep things on good terms, especially with all the effort we put into preparing. And this formal rejection only came after I followed up twice.

So, there were 6 interviews in total, with 3 final ones happening on the same day, which was super rushed and hard to schedule with my current job. Everyone asked the same stuff, so they could have combined some of those into group interviews. I met with both regular team members and leadership. They said they'd get back to me, but I never heard anything until I followed up a second time. Then, they immediately messaged me saying they decided to change the job description to hire someone less qualified, but they'd keep me in mind for the future. It's wild to go through all that for interviews and not even get a phone call or a proper message about it. I had to reach out. Honestly, I'm glad I didn't get the job in the end.

I had a recruiter call, then an in-person interview with the SDR manager, followed by a zoom call with the SDR manager from another location. The last stage was a panel interview where I had to do a practice cold call. I felt pretty good about my chances throughout, but in the final five minutes of the panel interview, one of the managers said they probably wouldn't have a position available for the SDR role, even though they were interviewing others. They then suggested I might be a fit for a BDR role at a lower salary. Honestly, I wasn't a fan of that bait-and-switch. Ultimately, they didn't offer me either position. The very next day, they reposted the job listing. I'd be cautious interviewing with Egnyte; they might just be wasting your time.

The interview process was pretty standard and helped both me and the company understand each other. The recruiter set salary expectations early on, and they were very helpful. The rest of the interviews were casual conversations, mostly focusing on behavioral aspects. They weren't trying to trick me or ask impossible questions. The final round was the toughest, but still manageable. I liked that there were no assignments, projects, or mock QBRs – my experience was valued. The entire process had 5 rounds, including the initial recruiter call, and took about 2.5 months, so patience is key. The recruiter was responsive whenever I checked in.
