Account Manager
I saw a job post for Dynamic Edge on Glassdoor that sounded like a good growth opportunity and applied online. A recruiter called me back within the week. I then came in person to the office, which was a nice business professional environment and the team was friendly. The questions asked were straightforward. Next, I had a full-day interview which I thought was a bit strange but exciting. I shadowed an account manager, starting with meetings and seeing professional development, then we went out to meet customers which was fun. The day ended with a meeting with the manager, we hit it off, and he made an offer on the spot.
- Can you describe a challenging situation with a teammate and how you handled it?
- What areas do you aim to develop in personally and professionally this year?
- Could you share something about yourself that isn't included in your resume?
Sales Consultant
Pretty straightforward interview, it had 3 parts. The first day was in person. The second day involved job shadowing with an account executive or whoever was doing the selling (basically b2b selling telecommunication service). After the shadowing, they asked if I liked the job they were doing and let me know if I was the right fit for them.
- Where do you envision yourself in a decade?
- What drives you?
- What causes you frustration?
Account Executive
I submitted my resume via careerbuilder and a recruiter reached out to me to explain the job a bit. The next day, I had my first interview, which was more of a vibe check to see if my mindset aligned with the company's. After that, I was invited for a full day job shadow followed by a final interview with the manager. I got there at 8 AM and didn't wrap up the job shadowing until about 6 PM, then interviewed between 6-7 PM about my job experience. They offered me the position on the spot. This company has a path for you to climb the ladder, starting as an executive manager, basically a sales associate selling products to businesses (B2B). They promote high achievers quickly and have a long-term vision for you to eventually own your own company and be your own manager. It's 100% commission, so if you don't sell, you don't earn. You have to hustle. If you're lazy, this isn't the job for you. Like others have said, they aren't always punctual with interview times; I waited 45 minutes past my scheduled time for the first interview, even arriving early. You need your own car for the second part, and expect waits of 1-2 hours if someone is supposed to pick you up, especially if relying on public transport.
- Could you describe your leadership style?
- What makes you want to join DEC?
- What value can you bring to this company?
Management Trainee
This company operates like a pyramid scheme where the main goal is rapid advancement to recruit more people under you, which increases your earnings. Although it seems like an independent company, it's actually part of a larger group, and they create an illusion of independence by allowing managers to name their branches freely. The interview felt unsettling, more like a sales pitch than a typical interview.
- Do you prefer working for others or being self-employed?
