First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at DV Trading.
Software Engineer
I applied online and heard back from a recruiter in a few weeks. I had one technical interview with an engineer from the team, but it didn't go great. They didn't ask me any coding questions. After that, I didn't hear anything back.
- Can you describe the most challenging or interesting project you handled in a past job?
- Did you come up with the idea for that project?
Trader
Had lots of video calls with different company folks. Started with resume stuff and then got more technical. Got to the offer stage once and then they ghosted. Went through it all again two years later, had a really good initial chat but didn't move forward. Took them almost 4 weeks to get back to me.
- Tell me about how you manage risk.
- What are the specifics of how you set up your trading strategies?
Quant Intern
It was 4 rounds total: HR, 2 technical rounds, and a final senior manager behavioral interview. The overall process was good, no issues. The recruiter was quick to respond and clear about everything, and I got an offer not long after the final interview.
- Could you discuss your previous project experiences?
- What are your interests?
- Do you have any fixed income questions?
Quantitative Analyst Trading Assistant
The entire interview process spanned approximately five days. It kicked off with a phone interview on the first day, covering my resume and some technical queries. The next phase involved a take-home analysis project using R, where I was given about three days to complete it. The final stage was a panel interview, which included questions about my experience, technical aspects of R and C++, some statistics, and problem-solving challenges. It seems my lack of finance background was noted as a drawback.
- Could you explain what spectral kurtosis is?
- Can you define encapsulation in the context of C++?
- What is the concept of a virtual function in C++?
