First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at DrFirst.
Technical Support Specialist
So I had a recruiter call first, then I had two interviews after that. The first one was with two team leads, and the second interview was with the hiring manager and her manager. I felt like each interview went really well. But then I got an email saying they weren't moving forward with me and the job was posted again like a week later. It felt like a total waste of my time. It's rough when experienced people go through all these interviews and then get rejected and miss out on other jobs.
- Can you share an instance where you dealt with a difficult situation involving a coworker and describe how you resolved it?
Senior Software Development Engineer in Test
So before the interviews, there was a cognitive/personality test. The interview process itself had three interviews. The first one was about an hour, and it had both technical and non-technical questions. The second interview was also an hour, but it was with a two-person panel and was purely technical. I didn't get through after the second interview, even though I thought I did okay with most questions. It was pretty disappointing not to get any feedback.
- Could you explain what object-oriented programming is?
Technical Support Engineer
After a two and a half month wait, I was invited for an intro call. I tried to reach HR multiple times while the job was open, but my calls and emails went unanswered. Gregory Fleischman was who I was directed to, but again, no response on any platform. I reached out a fourth time and was finally directed to the correct recruiter, who was great. We set up an intro call for the next week, but they had already stopped hiring for the position by then.
- Could you share what motivated you to apply for a position with our company?
Principal Security Engineer
First, there was a chat with the recruiter to see if I was a good initial fit. They asked some basic stuff to screen out folks who weren't a good cultural or experience match. Then, I talked to the hiring manager on Webex with cameras on. We went over the role, what the job entails, and if I'd fit in with the department. After that, I met some of the team members I'd be working with, also on Webex with cameras on. This was to go over technical questions, check my experience against the resume, and see if personalities clicked. Lastly, I had a meeting with someone higher up, maybe an executive, to make sure there weren't any major red flags and to get their take on my fit for the role and department.
- What's motivating you to look for a new opportunity?
- Can you explain how your background aligns with the qualifications for this role?
- Describe a situation where you had a conflict with a colleague and how you resolved it.
