My interview experience with DPR was very mixed. The phone screen and initial interviews went well - both interviewers were professional and friendly. The following interviews were disappointing to say the least. None of those interviewers had read my resume prior to joining each call and seemed very unprepared. They also asked all the same generic questions as if they were reading them off a list one by one. As someone who has led many interviews, it does not take much effort to set aside 15 minutes to prepare and come up with meaningful questions. It means a lot to interviewees when you respect their time.

It was a super thorough interview process. I interviewed at my college first and heard back about 2 days later that I passed. Then they flew me out to another DPR office, San Diego, for a full day interview. I arrived Friday night and left Sunday afternoon. The interview was about 6-7 hours on Saturday. It was really personal with a speed round of one on one interviews, and we also got to visit a job site and ask the PE questions there. It was a great experience that let both the company and me learn more about each other.

I hate to write this review because I can tell there are some genuinely great people here, but they might suffer from a lack of overall direction and organization... The interview process felt like it dragged on for months and ended with a THREE HOUR LONG interview where I spoke with nine people. I had to take three hours off from work and was totally exhausted. After all that, I was ghosted for three weeks! Even though I could take a hint, I still reached out for an update and was told they decided to move forward with other candidates. Completely fine, I didn't have the experience they were looking for... But PLEASE, if you're going to drag candidates through a three hour interview with nine people, have the decency to send a follow-up rejection email so we're not left in the dark... It made me feel pretty crappy.

Applied online and then about a month later, I received an email with a request for a phone interview. I replied with my availability on the same day. A month later, I received an unscheduled call from a different recruiter than the one I had previously emailed. They wanted to do a phone interview there and then. I had no recollection of what job I'd even applied for almost two months later. Made it through the phone screen and had two more virtual interviews--one with the hiring manager and another with the hiring manager's boss. The senior leader did the interview from her car, which was highly unprofessional as I was prepared in a blazer. The feedback from the hiring team had all been positive though and it seemed like I'd be hearing more from them. Weeks go by. I follow up with the recruiter, leaving a voicemail and sending an email. No response to either, nor has there been an automated email saying the position has been filled. This interview process was strung out over the course of three months, all to be ghosted.
