Customer Success Enablement Specialist
Heads up, communication with recruiters can be lacking, and you might be assigned a project to present. I was told a few days before by an interviewer that I'd need to prepare a presentation, but the topic was only given to me the morning of the panel interview. This made for an embarrassing interview since the interviewers didn't realize I wasn't properly informed. I tried to follow up with the recruiter about the topic in the two days before the interview, but she claimed ignorance and said she'd follow up. I ended up having to chase her for information. By the night before, still not knowing the topic, I created my own presentation to avoid being empty-handed. When I finally got the topic the next morning, I asked to reschedule but was denied. The whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth, and I was relieved not to get an offer. I spent a lot of time interviewing (three separate interviews and a panel interview) and preparing a project, so be warned that this might happen to you too if you proceed.
- How do you keep yourself updated with learning materials?
Sales
I was not impressed with the overall process. They are extremely excited to get you scheduled and then ask you to do sample projects as a part of the hiring process. Communication completely missing as a follow up and you are left to wonder where you stand. If you ask for me to put in time, you should provide feedback. The interviewer was completely disengaged the entire process and clearly had their mind set on someone from the beginning and I was a number for them to prove their efforts in participating in a hiring process. Don't waste my time please.
- What are your thoughts on addressing an underperforming employee?
Full Stack Engineer
The interview process was great from start to end, thanks to the hiring Team for being super clear and helpful with my requests and times. They went beyond the normal standards of caring about the employee. Technical Examination They left me a Project to work on at home and finish it following the instructions they gave me. After finishing the project I had the technical interview which was to add new features to the project already created and explain how it was done. The project is code agnostic so you can deliver it in the language you are more comfortable. After that, I had an interview with the Team's Manager and the Company's People Team to evaluate the soft skills and your compatibility with the company. I accepted the job because they offered me good benefits, sponsorship, the opportunity to be a leader, be part of something really important, and even though the process took more time than it was supposed to, they waited for me and were always taking care of all the paperwork I needed to be able to be working with them now, and super happy and excited to be part of States Title!
- Regarding the take-home project, how would you approach creating and consuming an API?
- How would you go about securing the application developed for the take-home project?
- What strategies would you employ to scale the application?
Technical Recruiter Manager
I interviewed with States Title in Feb 2021. First was a conversational phone screen with the VP of Recruiting where he explained States Title's business, how the recruiting team supports company goals, and future opportunities. He let me discuss my experience and why I'm a good fit. He also explained the rest of the interview process and timeline. Next, I met with the Chief People Officer. This was also conversational, allowing for detailed discussion in a comfortable back-and-forth. The final step involved meeting key business stakeholders to delve into current work, identify successes and areas for improvement, and discuss how my experience could contribute. Everyone I met was respectful, asked good questions, and showed genuine interest in me. I chose States Title over other offers because I wanted to be part of a strong team tackling tough challenges in a culture where I feel I belong. Now a month in, I'm happy with my decision.
