& Process

I was found on LinkedIn by the recruiter. They were very communicative, almost to the point of being pushy, but I didn’t mind. I had a couple of calls with the recruiter and their account manager. Then, I spoke with the client to talk about the role. The whole thing was pretty straightforward and they moved really quickly.

I made it all the way to the final interview stage. However, the interviewer seemed very eager to wrap up our conversation. They ended up rejecting me, claiming they were looking for a numerical response to a question that didn't necessitate one. I felt the question was intrusive, and I answered it in a way that maintained my personal boundaries. If a numerical answer was indeed expected, the question itself was poorly phrased, given its design. Friends I've spoken to about this also agree that a number wasn't a necessary part of the answer. I feel my time was wasted, and they didn't provide a legitimate explanation for my rejection after I reached the final round.

The recruiter was very unprofessional and the interview process was terrible. The recruiter was trying to schedule an interview with me and her client, but she didn't care about my time at all. After I gave her my availability for the week (Tuesday to Friday, 11 am to 1 pm), she got back to me saying it was tomorrow at 8 am or not happening. I didn't even have the job description. I decided to take it, though, given the current job market, and took the day off from my current job to interview with her client. The interview went well, and I felt I did good. But I got ghosted by both Dexian and their client. No feedback, no rejection email, nothing. Anyway, I feel like I dodged a bullet with Dexian; it was a horrible experience, and I won't recommend it. The recruiter was very unprofessional and repeatedly lied about emailing me the job description, only to get it late at night before the 8 am interview.

I had an initial chat with HR where they asked me basic questions about python and react. After that, I had to take an assessment on Glider AI, and I had to do it twice because the first time it was mostly about web scraping, which wasn't the core focus of the API Fullstack developer role. Then I had two more interviews, one with the client (Exxon Mobil) and another with the HR management in Brazil to cover the hiring process. I accepted the offer and provided my personal details (ID, address, etc.). They mentioned sending a laptop and setting up onboarding, but that never happened. They then became unresponsive to my attempts to contact them via email, WhatsApp, and LinkedIn. I even reached out to other Dexian developers on LinkedIn, but got no response. My advice: be cautious with this company and hold off on sharing your info until you're sure the job opening is legitimate.
