I applied through LinkedIn. They first sent an English test which might be a bit challenging if your English isn't great. After that, I had a 1-on-1 with the recruitment manager. It was really short, about 10 minutes, and they asked basic questions about handling tricky clients or clients who are unsure of their needs, how I prioritize and manage my time for several projects, etc. The manager mentioned that if I advanced, I'd get more info on salary and specific requirements. The interview was at noon, and by the evening, I got an email saying the process was over and pointing out areas for improvement. I think it's because I mentioned liking to guide clients and understand their needs thoroughly, which didn't fit their fast-paced, multi-client setup.

So, for the remote Graphic Designer gig at Design Pickle, interviews are all virtual. If you get picked for the first chat, expect an email from the recruiter. The first interview is basically to see if you fit the job and meet the requirements. Then, for the second interview, you'll get a small task to do, and you'll have an hour to finish it. The interview process was okay. The interviewer communicated clearly and the questions were relevant to the job. However, the expected workload for an illustrator seemed very high, requiring them to handle 5-7 clients daily. Although they were recruiting for Southeast Asia talent at the time, they expected work according to US/Pacific time, which didn't align with my preferences.

Applied about 3 weeks ago and got an invite for a 30 min phone screen. The interview was chill, nothing crazy. They were cool about telling me the salary range upfront. At the end, the interviewer said the hiring team would be in a meeting for a couple days so they'd get back to me in 24-48 hours. In the meantime, they'd send more info on culture and benefits. Also said I could ask questions. I sent a thank you email with questions, then a check-in email 3 days later, and left a voicemail a week later. Nothing back. It's unprofessional to ghost people, and it makes the company look bad. I won't consider hiring them.
