Case Technical

This was a totally BS interview. It started with a typical case interview, which was easy and I nailed it. Then, I was given a brain teaser that the interviewer herself didn't understand. I asked a critical clarifying question, but the interviewer responded, “that doesn’t matter.” I was rejected because I didn't get the brain teaser correct. I later found out that no one in my cohort was asked brain teasers. Overall rating: Easy, but Impossible.

Technical Case Presentation

The interview process was very long and lengthy. I had 5 rounds of interviews, with each interview being 1 hour long. The first round consisted of a technical interview covering all topics from programming, stats, machine learning and business use cases in telecom. The second round with a partner, involved a business case study, third round was a data science case study - one week long, fourth round involved a presentation of the case study along with more technical questions and the final round with another partner on a business case study. The final interview with the Partner was very rude and had no interest in the interview.

Behavioral Technical Case

It was a tough interview process which required weeks of prep. The process involved 4 rounds of interviews. Each round had minimal fit questions (3-4 max, including walk me thru your CV), technical questions (30mins) and a case study questions (10mins). Interview 1 - case study Q was market sizing Q’s and a number of technical questions. Interview 2 - case study questions was regarding PE firm and how you would handle a PE client. What 3 metrics would you use to analyse a co. - random “warm up questions”. Technical questions included FCFF, dcf, Ebitda a good proxy?, p&l vs CFS which is better?, how to treat leases? Interview 3 - more fit questions and why Dubai, why delta, why TMT Case study - ship sinks and there’s 60 ppl in it. All survive and there’s enough food for 28 days. 8 days later rescue boat comes and it sinks, 36 ppl on board. All survive, they share the existing food and decide to cut portions by half. How long can the food last in total? Interview 4 - fit & technical - circular references - FCFF, effects on FCFF if dep increases - case study: 1) how many buses in London. All interviewers were really easy to talk to but 2 of them really stood out and made me feel extremely comfortable. WSP Red Book helped a ton that’s for sure. Would highly recommend getting the WSP Redbook & Case in Point (Marc Cosentino). Total spent was 100 USD. Best investment I’ve made to date.

Technical Case Behavioral

I went through 4 interviews, all the same format. They focused on TMT knowledge, general consulting skills, communication/negotiation/client relationship skills, motivation, and fit, plus case studies. Each interview was an hour long, starting with an intro and CV review, then a case study, then questions about my motivation to join Delta Partners and consulting, and finally Q&A. The first interviewer was really nice and guided me through the case study, helping me arrive at a good answer even when I stumbled. The second interviewer, however, was cold and seemed uninterested, cutting me off mid-explanation and not being very helpful with the case study. I'm unsure if my answer was okay because I got no feedback. I didn't proceed to the third round, but honestly, I wouldn't want to work with someone like that. I also think they're looking for TMT industry knowledge, which I don't have.
