Submitted CV and cover letter in English. Got invited for an in-person interview the day after the vacancy closing date. The 30-min interview was in English, with the team manager, a future colleague, and someone from a different department. We discussed my intermediate Dutch level. At the end, they explained there would be two more rounds of interview. The same day, I was invited for the second interview. It was a 45-min interview with the team manager and two future colleagues, and they surprised me by trying to conduct it entirely in Dutch - I was not expecting it after the first interview was in English and this threw me off balance even though they switched back to English early on. I would suggest they give non-Dutch speakers a heads-up instead of adding this element of surprise to the stress of a job interview. The day after, they called to say they were going with another candidate because my motivation to work in Delft was not clear and the other candidate had more direct experience.

The interview at TU Delft Helpdesk was friendly and well-organized. It started with a brief chat about my motivation and experience, followed by practical questions on IT support and customer communication. They focused on aspects like service orientation, teamwork, and stress resilience. Overall, it felt both professional and informal, and I got quick feedback.

My interview for the Management Assistant role at TU Delft was disappointing. The conversation felt awkward, and it was clear the interviewers weren't prepared. They asked few questions about my experience or skills. Much of the time was spent discussing department/staff general details, often unclearly. When I asked basic questions about onboarding or daily team functions, I got vague/evasive answers. It was hard to get a clear picture of the role or expectations. The interview lacked depth and left me uncertain about the position and the organization’s communication. I expected a more structured and engaging conversation from TU Delft.

Submitted my application and got invited for the first round of interviews. After a preliminary screening, I got the invite for the 1st round interview, and had to pick a time slot before Christmas. After the 1st round, I was asked to write a report about the project. The entire process took about 2.5 months, including the Christmas break.
