The hiring journey is split into 5 parts and took me about a month to wrap up. First, there's an online skills test. Then, I had my initial chat with the Principal, mainly to see if I really got the gig and its duties. If that went well, we dove into other questions from both sides. He's cool with answering any queries you might have. Just a heads-up, he's pretty direct, so don't expect fluffy language. If the conversation clicks, you'll get a take-home assignment. After that, you submit your assignment, which you can do at your own speed. Next up, a second interview to go over your assignment with the Principal and another team member, focusing on your solution and other design-related topics. They actually pay for this assignment if it meets their quality standards. It's cool they do that. Finally, they give you feedback on your assignment and the whole process, and then let you know if they want to hire you. It's a tough process with high expectations from the Director, but it's all laid out clearly in the job description and mentioned during the interviews.

Senior Software Engineer
Applied via StackOverflow, leading straight into an online assessment that was both behavioral and technical, taking about 1-1.5 hours. After passing, the Principal emailed to book an interview slot. The first round was mainly behavioral, followed by a paid, take-home technical assignment with two problems. I provided an estimate for the assignment the next day and submitted it on time. Assignment review took about a week, and the next round was scheduled 1.5 weeks later. The second round had the Principal and another person, where they discussed my approach to the assignment problems. They seemed happy and moved me to the next step: preparing a development plan and technical-design artifacts for a real company project. This required signing an NDA to get project documents, which gave good insight into their work. I estimated this task the day after receiving the docs and submitted my work about two weeks later. This was also paid, and paid more than the first task. A week after submission, I was invited to the third round. The third round had the same two interviewers, who asked about my submission, which I answered well. They seemed pleased, and after about an hour, the Principal scheduled a call for the next day to discuss the offer. In the final offer call, the Principal explained company culture, expectations, and the compensation structure, and I accepted the offer. I'll start part-time soon and then join full-time after my notice period.

Business Analyst
The hiring process was pretty good, you know the steps in advance and everything happens rather quickly. My practical test assignment was to describe a current business and offer new business processes. It took a week to review the document firstly by employees and then by CEO himself (as he said). The written feedback was that there were many mistakes, however, I could be considered as a Junior BA. Ok, no problem. We scheduled a call to discuss these mistakes. That's also perfectly fine (and even important, I should add, in terms of getting verbal feedback). In the first minutes of the call revealed that the document stated many facts wrongly so that there was no sense to discuss it. Why wasn't it clear before? I think an issue like that could easily be spotted. If these mistakes were so crucial then I don't understand why this call took place. I would expect a simple email declining my application. I would imagine that the actual review by the CEO was made right before the call or probably during it, and his opinion differed from the team's opinion. The worst part was the CEO's emotions he couldn't control. The CEO allowed himself to laugh so hard and often at the document that some of his words could not be made out. "This is insane", he said, "further analysis of the document would not be humane in relation to you". Such behavior is absolutely unacceptable and unprofessional, especially for the CEO. It also demonstrates a bad company culture. I would at least expect some basic manners and respect. The fact of establishing and ruling a company doesn't give anybody the rights for such behavior. I would recommend keeping far away from this company.

Backend Engineer
There are 4 phases in total. First is an online assessment. Second, the Principal will directly assess your understanding of the job. You should do your homework in detail, as I was stuck on an SDLC question even after reading carefully. He's a straightforward person, unlike traditional HR, and doesn't give false hope. If he's satisfied with your answers about the job, he'll say, 'I'm going to assign you a task after this interview,' or simply, 'Thanks for your time, but we can't proceed further.' I've passed the first two rounds and am waiting for the third round, which is a paid assignment, followed by evaluation and an offer.
- What is your understanding of the role?
- Can you answer questions based on the job description?
