First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Daversa Partners.
Consultant
I had 6 interviews over Facetime or phone calls. The people were nice and asked pretty standard questions. It was a lot to do 6 interviews in 20-45 minute blocks. After two weeks, I followed up with no response. After another two weeks (a month total), I followed up again. I was told I wasn't the right fit for one team, but they asked me to interview for another. I declined because I had other offers and didn't want to go through another 6 interviews and wait a month. They seem like great people, but they need to care more about applicants' needs. The interview process can reflect the company.
- How do you deal with receiving feedback?
Consultant
I first met a recruiter at a school career fair. We then set up an interview for later that same afternoon. After that, I had two FaceTime interviews. Finally, I was invited to come to their office in New York. The interviews were mainly behavioral with some situational questions as I got further along. The people interviewing me were super friendly and honest the whole time; I felt like I always knew what was going on and they kept me updated. I didn't get the job in New York, but they did offer me a chance to interview for a spot in Connecticut, though I ended up taking a different job.
- How would you approach a conversation to gather information about a potential job opportunity?
Associate
I found Daversa Partners through my college's career database and sent them my CV/cover letter. One of the directors responded very quickly and set up a Skype interview the next day. The best analogy to this process was like rushing a fraternity again: These guys seemed like they were looking for someone who they'd like to hang out in an office with, but also drink the Kool-Aid, deliver results on limited resources, and be able to handle constant direct feedback regarding performance. The process as a whole consists of a series of Skype interviews with senior employees in the office, followed by an on-site interview later if those went well. They mostly ask behavioral questions.
- Can you share an instance where you had to improvise or think quickly?
- Describe a situation where you got criticism and how you handled it.
- What do you see as your long-term career aspirations?
Recruiter
First phone call was super basic, mostly them talking about the company and role. But then at the in person interview, they'd cut you off. I followed up about the job status and heard nothing back. It's wild because you'd think in recruiting they'd at least respond, like they get networking. It's a bummer I never got a response, even a simple 'no thanks,' because I would have recommended companies to them.
- All questions were very basic.
