Software Engineer
The hiring process was pretty smooth and organized, with five interview rounds wrapping up in about three weeks. It kicked off with HR for an initial chat, then a culture fit interview. After that, there was a technical assessment which involved a live coding session and an onsite design evaluation. The last step was meeting with the Head of Engineering. All in all, it was a direct and efficient process. They communicated clearly, gave feedback fast after each step, and I got the offer without any annoying delays.
- Can you design a central system for managing company and user details, where any updates are automatically reflected across all product systems?
Senior .NET Engineer
The product looks promising (Excel automation/FinTech), and the company seems to be growing fast. But my experience with the interview process was disappointing due to a lack of preparation and inconsistent communication. The recruitment part lacked transparency, and deadlines for updates were frequently missed without notice. Being told to expect an answer "tomorrow" but receiving no communication for several days creates a confusing experience compared to other companies with clearer timeline management. The live coding session environment seemed untested; the boilerplate project provided for the task failed to launch due to configuration errors (port conflicts). Valuable interview time was spent debugging the setup and reverse-engineering the frontend logic just to get the application running, rather than solving the actual problem. File sharing tools also experienced technical issues. The coding task involved implementing logic for a board game (Mancala variants), which felt disconnected from the actual job description involving Cloud, Excel Add-ins, and SaaS. While algorithmic checks are standard, assessing a candidate in a malfunctioning environment—and then cutting the session short to switch topics without completing the code—resulted in a disorganized experience.

It started off as a great opportunity, but ended up being a letdown. I had a regular HR interview, then a second interview with the marketing lead and a motion designer. It was a good conversation, very professional and detailed, and they seemed really interested in my experience. But, I didn't get a chance to ask any questions. I was told I'd get a creative assignment in a few days, but nothing happened for weeks. I followed up twice nicely, but heard nothing back. After five weeks of silence, I sent a more direct email about my frustration. Then, HR replied within an hour. This lack of clear communication and being ignored for so long was really frustrating, especially since I'd heard good things about working at Datasnipper. Honestly, their hiring process felt disorganized and lacked basic communication, which was easily fixable.
- Can you tell me about a project you particularly enjoyed working on?
Director of Engineering
The hiring journey was smooth and well-organized. It started with a recruiter chat, followed by a business case take-home assignment, then an in-person presentation to the VP of Engineering and Product, and finally a team interview. The recruiter, Anastasiia, was great to work with. She was super organized, made sure my background fit the role, and clearly explained what to expect at each stage, from the first call to the VP meeting. The business case talk with Thilo, the VP, was really engaging and felt like a real back-and-forth about both tech details and the bigger picture. I was really impressed by Thilo's ideas and energy. Even though they went with someone else, the decision felt justified. Overall, it was a positive experience, and I'd definitely consider applying again.
