First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Dashiell.
CAD Technician
I applied on their website and then a recruiter from Dashiell reached out to schedule an in-person interview with the head of Design. The whole process from the initial call to getting an offer took about 1 to 2 weeks. The interview itself was about 2 to 3 hours long. They primarily focus on personality and cultural fit. There's a test with a 1-hour time limit that wasn't too difficult. If you have more experience or demonstrate advanced knowledge, they might consider you for a higher position than CAD 1.
- What is prompting your job search?
- Can you share about your academic background?
Intern
It was a really straightforward and easy process. Mostly just HR and personality-based questions. They're just trying to find people who are keen on the work and have a good work ethic. Be ready, but don't expect it to be like a super intense interview.
- What are your thoughts on meeting deadlines?
Structural Engineer
Had a short phone interview. I would have had to relocate for this position, and the interviewer was more interested in asking about what discussions I had with my family about moving to a new city. In fact, in his follow up phone call, he stated he didn’t think I had really discussed a relocation with my family and that was the one of the main reasons I didn’t get a second interview. I just felt quite disrespected, since he made his own assumptions about my family, our interactions, and what was appropriate. This felt very unprofessional, especially since, seeing as I’m single, no one in my family would be involved in my relocation.
- Have you discussed relocating to a new city with your family?
Electrical Engineer
The interview process was pretty standard, nothing out of the ordinary. They asked me some behavioral questions and talked about my past work experience. While I thought it went okay, I didn't end up getting an offer because there were other candidates who were a better fit for the role.
- What made you decide to pursue a career in Electrical Engineering?
- Have you had any experience in building things?
- Could you tell me about your high school experience?
