First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Curia.
Network Engineer
I spoke with a Network Engineer. We talked about my background, and we quickly realized we were both skilled in networking. After that, he didn't ask many more questions. I got the offer the same day.
- Tell me about your life experiences.
- We both seem to understand networking well.
Research Scientist
The interview process started with a recruiter call to understand who you are and the company's mission. Following that, there was a technical presentation to the team you would join, which included questions about your research and basic organic chemistry knowledge.
- Can you tell me about yourself?
- Tell me about your research.
- Do you have a baseline knowledge of organic chemistry?
Manager
A recruiter reached out but seemed unsure of the role's requirements. Following that, I had Zoom interviews. During the interviews, one interviewer was absent due to illness, and another did not enable their video, making the experience quite awkward. The main issue for Curia Albuquerque seems to be its location, as Albuquerque isn't a major biotech/pharma center, limiting the available talent pool. This leads them to hire from unrelated industries, which doesn't benefit the organization. They appeared to lack experience and clarity on what they were looking for.
- Can you describe your management style?
- How do you approach managing your team?
Program Manager
I applied online and heard back from a recruiter who asked about my willingness to relocate to Albany, NY, and my COVID-19 vaccination status. I was okay with both, so the recruiter scheduled a call for the following week. The recruiter called a few minutes late and didn't apologize, then immediately started asking about my experience and what I was looking for, without giving me much chance to ask about the role. They briefly described the company but focused on my resume. They mentioned the role was on-site at least twice but didn't explain why or what was expected. The salary offered was $20-30k lower than the average for a Program Manager in Albany. It wasn't a great experience because they expect on-site work, the pay wasn't competitive, and they didn't explain the role well.
