Brand Ambassador
I had a really weird and honestly insulting interview with CROSSMARK Australia for a brand ambassador role. I joined the Teams meeting, and after a bit, I had to remind the interviewer what job it was for. They then asked about my retail experience, which confused me because I had mentioned it on my resume and it was not my first interview for this role. I also asked about growth after the promotion, since the role was only for 5 weeks with limited hours, and I wanted to show my worth. They said they sometimes keep people after promotions and there would be 'great incentives, but I can't talk about them' – a line I've heard before in sales jobs that usually goes nowhere. After some discussion, I was told this wasn't an interview but an offer for the role, which surprised me since I hadn't received an offer letter. I turned it down because of the limited hours and short duration. Then, I got a funny email saying I wasn't considered, even though I was told I was offered the role and declined it. The whole vibe was off, and I felt like the interviewer had no info on me besides my name. I hope they were just having an off day.
- Could you describe your previous retail experience?
- What potential career advancement opportunities exist following this promotion?
- Tell me about any potential incentives that might be available.
Sales Representative
Had two interviews and a driving record background check, then I was hired. You need merchandising and some sales experience. They ask detailed questions, so be ready. A good driving record is a must. Any DUIs mean you won't be hired. They don't pay much for all the work they expect.
- Are you able to travel overnight multiple times a month in this full-time representative role?
Client Engagement Manager
So I got referred by someone on the team, and then I had this interview with a senior director pretty quickly, like within a day. Then about two days after that, a recruiter called me to set up this in-person panel interview with the senior director and two other people. Got an offer about five days after that. It was pretty fast, honestly, compared to other places.
- Were you more of a team player or did you like working by yourself?
Retail Merchandiser
The first interviewer said she would give me thirty cents per mile. The second interviewer was unhappy that I lived forty miles away from the job location. Then she told me I would have to pay for the first forty miles myself each time, even though the job description clearly states they pay for mileage and your driving time.
- What motivated you to apply for a position that is forty miles away?
