This role went through 3 rounds of interviews with heads of different departments. It moved pretty fast. They did ask some detailed questions, which was good. The overall experience was positive, but just a heads-up that Gatehouse Media has acquired parts of the company, leading to quick changes in positions.

I talked to a few managers for the first interview. It seemed to go okay, and the hiring manager said the recruiter would reach out with an assessment. I sent a thank you note to the managers the next day. I never heard back with a thank you or any acknowledgment. I followed up with the hiring manager about a week later for an update, but got no response. They completely ghosted me, and I absolutely would not recommend this company because they lack professionalism and respect. If this is how they treat you during the interview process, it says a lot about how they'd treat you as an employee. Don't go near this place.

So after you apply, a recruiter will call you to do a phone interview. They'll tell you about the job and pay. If you're going to be a producer, you'll have to do a skills test where you write short news scripts. Then, you'll have an in-person interview. I had two in-person interviews: one was one-on-one, and the other was a group interview.

I applied online and got an email a day or two later to schedule a phone screen. I had a 20-minute call with a guy where he asked basic questions like 'Tell me about yourself,' 'Why Cox Media Group?', and 'What do you know about Cox Media Group?'. He said he wanted to schedule me for an interview, so about 3 days later I took a train to the city for an in-person interview. I got buzzed in and was greeted by a friendly guy who offered me coffee. We then went into a room for a 1-on-1 interview that lasted about 30 minutes. After that, I spoke with another man for another 30 minutes. They mainly asked situational questions like 'explain a time when...' or 'how would you react if...'. They made me feel welcomed and didn't pressure me. It was a great interview experience overall.
