First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at CoreWeave.
Software Engineer
I had an initial chat with the recruiter, who could only schedule it for 3 weeks out. After talking with them, I was set up for a technical interview, which was scheduled for 2 weeks later. On the day of the interview, the meeting invite disappeared. I emailed them and after 3 days of waiting, I got an auto-reject. The same recruiter contacted me again 2 months later about the same job. I took their call, explained what happened last time, and asked to just proceed to the next stage. They got really aggressive with me and told me to explain the role and everything we talked about in detail. I pulled out my notes and a list of all the things we discussed last time. They got a bit angry and asked a few questions, and then the interview concluded. The recruiter clearly had an ego issue.
- What's your reason for leaving your present employer, and what motivates you to join CoreWeave?
Operational Specialist
I was in the interview process with Coreweave for over 12 weeks, interacting with many people, sometimes outside of normal work hours because of the time difference. It was a mess from start to finish. I kept going even though I had doubts, and I was moved to the next stage without any real feedback at any point. They needed to fill the role quickly, even though I had a 3-month notice period, but they still unnecessarily dragged out the process. After all this time and effort, I got an email saying 'I regret to inform you that we have decided not to progress further with your application' - that was it, no thanks, no feedback, no engagement. I asked for a better response and still haven't gotten one. They just ghosted me. For a company that's a leader in AI and tech, they have terrible systems and staff for communicating their vision and running recruitment effectively. Such a waste of time and effort.
- When would you be able to start?
AI Customer Support Engineer
The interview process kicked off with a recruiter phone screen, followed by an online assessment that was actually pretty fun. Then there was a hiring manager interview, and after that, I went through three separate panel interviews with customer support engineers. The process took about two months, which felt a bit long. I'd recommend using these interviews for practice! Most of the people involved were really nice, especially 2 out of the 3 panelists. Interestingly, an extra round was added at the end, and the senior manager didn't seem very engaged, making me wonder if they were collecting data or fulfilling a compliance requirement. CoreWeave/wandb seems to know exactly what kind of engineers they're looking for, and if you fit the profile, they tend to move fast. Otherwise, the process might just drag on.
- Can you describe the distinction between multiprocessing and multithreading?
- What is your motivation for pursuing a role in customer support engineering?
Kernel Systems Engineer
So, the interview process started with a recruiter call, then a call with a manager or director which was a bit technical. After that, I had an onsite with a lead for an hour to discuss my technical background, and another hour onsite for a behavioral interview with someone in an operationally significant role. My experience felt very tailored to my specific background in operating systems, given my 6 years of experience. It's clear the company is growing fast and needs to nail execution to seize their opportunity. Everyone was super nice. My take is that management is effective and fosters a good culture. I would've been happy to accept if circumstances were different.
