I went through six rounds of interviews. The process initially felt well-organized and positive. However, after the final round, communication stopped for over a month before I eventually received a rejection. While I understand that hiring decisions can take time, the lack of timely updates made the experience frustrating. Also, six rounds felt like too many and could be streamlined to better respect candidates’ time. Improving communication and shortening the process would make the candidate experience much better.

Applied online and got an email from HR the same week. Had to do some screening questions, then a 30-min Teams interview with HR. They talked about the company, benefits, and the job. I talked about my resume, answered some behavioral questions, and asked my own questions. The HR person was nice and professional. They said my experience fit the role well and I'd hear back next week. I sent a thank-you, and followed up after a week with no response. Waited another week, still no reply, and no updates on the portal. Finally saw on the portal five weeks later that my status was 'not retained', and got an automated email that night. I get that things happen, but better communication would've been nice. Ghosting people is not cool.

HR reached out to me after I applied to discuss my background further, and then I met with the hiring manager. Following that, I had meetings with members of the digital marketing and MarComm teams. Then, I interviewed with the Product team. The final meeting was with the VP. After each step, the HR person would connect with me to get my feedback and confirm if I wanted to proceed, and vice versa.

I got an email to set up a screening, and I booked a time, clearing my schedule. But then, five minutes before the call, the recruiter messaged me saying they had double-booked and we had to reschedule. Seriously, how does that even happen, especially now? And why tell me at the last second? I had to rearrange my day, which was super annoying. When we finally connected the next week, the recruiter sounded really robotic and like they were just reading a script. They didn't do any casual chat about my background or the job itself. They just jumped right in by asking why I wanted a new role. When I brought up some of the online reviews about the company, instead of being upfront, they got defensive and said none of it was true. They claimed they'd never had to replace someone, so they didn't get where I was coming from. They were acting super reactive. At the end, I asked about hearing back, and they said by the end of that week, at the latest. I heard nothing by Friday, then another whole week passed. So, I reached out for an update, but still nothing. Another week went by (so it was three weeks since the screening), and I sent one last message emphasizing I needed to know where things stood because I was looking at other options too. A few hours later, I got a reply saying they weren't moving forward. No apology or explanation, but honestly, I'm glad because it feels like I dodged a bullet.
