Sales Representative
The interview wasn't great. The interviewer seemed like they were in a hurry. I expect questions, but they should be clear and structured, not just thrown at me in a messy way. It felt really disorganized and unprofessional. I didn't like it, and honestly, you can tell pretty quickly when an interview is going to be poorly organized.
- Can you describe your past work experience?
- How do you approach and manage various situations?
Account Manager
The recruiting interview was awesome, the hiring manager really helped out at every step. During the hiring manager interview, they kept helping me out, making it super easy to schedule. Going into the C-level interview, the help was still there, making things smooth for everyone. The case study part wasn't any different, with the hiring manager guiding me so I totally got what I needed to do. Even in the German proof interview, help was easy to get, showing they wanted the whole thing to go smoothly. Then the offer came, which was the end of a process that was just really well-supported and efficient all the way through.
- Can you tell me about your past work in this field, specifically focusing on account management duties?
- What prior experience do you have relevant to this position?
- What challenges have you faced in account management?
Digital Success Manager
So I had the strangest interview experience ever. About 3 months ago, I went through 5 rounds of interviews for a role. The recruiter said everyone loved me and the interviews went great. Then they told me they were putting the role on hold because of organizational changes. I was bummed but said to reach out if it opened up again. A month later, they did. The role was back, but would report to someone new. I did 3 more rounds, and they all went really well, including one with a C-suite person. At the end of that, they said they were closing the position *again*. It felt like a bizarre, time-wasting prank. I asked them not to contact me again. I think I dodged a bullet.
- Tell me about yourself.
- Why are you interested in this role?
- What are your strengths and weaknesses?
Account-based Marketing Manager
After applying for the Account Based Marketing Manager role, I first had a 30-minute phone chat with the hiring manager on 9/14. This went well and led to an onsite interview on 9/26 with 4 people from marketing and sales, lasting about 2.5 hours. Then on 10/4, I had my 3rd interview which was another onsite that lasted 2.5 hours and involved a presentation and meeting more people. They asked me to create a marketing presentation showing how I'd reach out to a list of accounts to promote Conductor's SEO platform. I spent a lot of time on this presentation, but was happy to do it. On the day of the presentation, I presented to marketing and sales employees and also met with their CFO. I got great feedback on the presentation. About a week and a half later, on 10/16, I got a verbal offer with details on salary, benefits, and a start date. I was really happy! But the very next day, 10/17, the hiring manager called to say there was a miscommunication and the offer wasn't valid. I had to go back in for a 4th interview on 10/23 with the VP of Sales and the Product Manager. This interview was an hour long. After that, I was told the process was finished and I'd hear back that week. On 10/26, I got a call saying I would not be receiving the offer.
