First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Community Health Systems.
Director of Imaging
It was a very long interview process, pretty much all day. I met with 4 different groups of people, and they all asked different questions. First, I met with the C-suite, then the directors who don't deal with patients, followed by the patient-facing directors, and finally, I spoke with my staff.
- Can you tell me about a time you handled a problem within your department?
Administrator
It was a pretty standard interview process, mostly focused on your leadership skills and past projects. They started with a phone screen, then had a few online interviews, followed by an in-person interview, and finally an offer. Honestly, it wasn't too tough or unpleasant. Make sure to ask a lot about work-life balance and how the central office helps out the local hospitals.
- Can you explain what LOS means to you?
Accountant
The manager provided a very detailed explanation of the job responsibilities, and they seemed like a great person to work with. I was contacted for a second interview, but I turned it down due to the low pay, and I've also heard that raises are not substantial. Additionally, there's no bonus unless you are in a management role or higher.
- Can you tell me about your time management and organizational abilities?
Certified Nursing Assistant
So, the interview process is pretty straightforward. They want to make sure you know how to handle difficult people professionally. Don't badmouth anyone, okay? Instead, explain the whole situation, why that person was tough to deal with, and how you managed it. The key is to show how you can spin any negative into something good. What did you learn from it, and what would be your approach now?
- Can you walk me through the circumstances and actions you took, step by step?
- What event occurred that made you feel proud?
- What was your specific role in the situation?
