I first applied online on their website and then the nursing recruiter reached out to set up my interview. The interview was held on the unit in a meeting room with the Clinical Nurse Leaders from both ICUs. Since I was already a nurse tech there, I didn't need an interview with the ICU director or educator because they knew me. For new applicants, they had two interviews: one with the CNLs and another with the director and educator.

It was a really thorough process. They started with a 5-day orientation. I really liked the interviewer; she was upfront, direct, and organized, and she immediately told me what to expect. Even after I got the job offer and started working, she always made time to say hi and check if I was continuing my education. This was while she was acting as both the interim Med-Surg manager and interim CNO.

The interview was conducted online due to COVID, not in person. It lasted about 20-30 minutes. They wanted to hear about my medical field experiences, followed by a section on clinical experience. Two people from the unit conducted the interview. I received a call within a few days indicating they wanted to move forward with me.
