First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Collibra.
Account Executive
So the interview process at Collibra was pretty thorough, meant to see if you're good at the job and also if you'd fit in. It had a few parts. First, I chatted with HR about my past work, why I want this job, and if I vibe with Collibra's whole thing. Then, there was a Sales interview where we talked about how I connect with customers, sell solutions, and manage big accounts. After that, I met the Hiring Manager who gave me the lowdown on what the job entails, the team, and the main goals. They also threw some hypothetical situations at me to see how I'd react. The last bit was a Technical Engineering chat, checking my knowledge of Collibra's stuff, data governance, and how I solve tech problems. Honestly, it was all pretty smooth and clear, felt like they really wanted to find someone who knows their stuff and works well with others.
- Can you share your sales figures, successes, and also instances where you faced losses and what you learned from them?
Platform Engineer
It started with a recruiter call to go over the team and roles. Then I had a chat with the hiring manager, mostly behavioral stuff and talking about my experience. After that, I had a technical interview with two engineers about my background and projects. The next round was supposed to be with two more engineers, but only one showed up and we had a quick technical chat. The process ended badly. No one told me anything after the fourth interview, so I had to chase them up. They told me the next day the job was filled because someone else accepted an offer. I never got any feedback on my interviews. The lack of communication and respect for candidate time was wild. Going through so many rounds and then getting no feedback or closure felt really unprofessional and rude. Candidates need to be kept in the loop and updated promptly, especially after putting in so much time.
- Could you discuss your experience and knowledge regarding Kubernetes?
Software Engineer
It was a nice interview process with a few steps: first, a 30-minute chat with the recruiter. Then, a 30-minute live coding session where I had to build some basic features for a React todo list. After that, a 60-minute deep dive technical interview, finishing with 15 minutes to code two simple React hooks that had one key difference. The final stage was an in-person visit to the office: a 60-minute meeting with a product manager and another 60-minute meeting with an engineering manager. Finally, they extended an offer, and a background check was done through Sterling. I felt like my time was valued and got a good impression of the company.
- What's the distinction between throttle and debounce, and in what scenarios would you implement them?
Product Manager
The interview process consisted of 3 calls with different employees and 1 call with an HR representative. All interviews were done online and took around 30-45 minutes. All the employees seemed very knowledgeable about product management and asked relevant questions. HOWEVER! - After the last call I got feedback that was not reflective of the call at all, some parts of it were completely untrue. This left me with a very bad feeling, getting rejected based on dishonest feedback. I will probably not be applying again to Collibra after this experience.
- Would you be comfortable experimenting with various data technologies and creating user stories from that experience?
