First, I talked with two engineering managers about my background and if I was a good fit for the role. It was a pretty chill chat. Then, I had to do a technical exercise to show how I'd approach things. Finally, we went over that exercise, and they asked me some questions about my skills and how I'd handle certain situations.

They start with simple queries, such as your location. However, when they inquire about your current salary, it becomes a significant red flag for me. They asked about working in the office and even after several times I asked for the office location since I cannot find it online (another red flag). Still they didn't give the exact address.

The recruitment process felt like they were trying to get as much info as possible from me, like where I'm currently working and my salary, even though that info is on my CV. It didn't seem like they were actually considering me for the role. The recruiter emailed later saying my CV was too 'jumpy/hoppy', even though my work history since graduation is fully accounted for. I made some changes, but they still decided not to move forward. I've been in the industry for over 15 years and never had a CV rejected before, so this was really weird and suspect behavior from a recruitment agency.

There were about 3 stages in total, with the last one being a decision on whether to give an offer. The first interview was pretty chill and casual with a team member. The second stage involved a presentation, another chat with a team member that was a mix of casual and formal stuff, followed by a 15-minute IQ test (except the last page, which was easy), and then a final interview with a manager. The third stage was a call where they checked if I could actually do the job and get info.
