Software Engineer
the interview process was smooth and professional. the recruiter was friendly, responsive, and clearly explained the expectations. i appreciated the timely communication, structured steps, and overall respectful and efficient experience.
- Can you describe a recent technical challenge you faced and explain how you resolved it?
Software Engineer
The recruitment process felt like they were trying to get as much info as possible from me, like where I'm currently working and my salary, even though that info is on my CV. It didn't seem like they were actually considering me for the role. The recruiter emailed later saying my CV was too 'jumpy/hoppy', even though my work history since graduation is fully accounted for. I made some changes, but they still decided not to move forward. I've been in the industry for over 15 years and never had a CV rejected before, so this was really weird and suspect behavior from a recruitment agency.
- Can you tell me where you are currently employed?
- What is your current salary?
Software Engineer
I've had two calls with two separate people from Client Server so far, but they both declined to continue any sort of process with me unless I disclosed my current salary. I've gathered from previous job searches that the more you share about your current situation, the more likely you are to stay at the same pay or get a minimal bump, so I never share what I'm currently making. Apparently, Client Server won't continue their hiring process without that info. I would highly suggest avoiding them. If they don't want to hire you without you disclosing this info, that's too bad for them. So, never tell recruiters your current salary!
