& Process

I went through multiple rounds and everything seemed to be going well. The final step was a case study presentation, which was due the Monday after Thanksgiving. I would have received the case study details just two days before Thanksgiving. I explained that I would be traveling for the holiday that entire week and wouldn't be able to complete the case study by the deadline. I proposed some alternative dates, and the hiring manager told me they were sick and would reply later. After I sent my email, I heard nothing for several days, and then was informed I was no longer under consideration.

My interview process was with Jamie Spinney, Latoyia Austin, Bianca Daniels and Shanika Scott. Jamie was my first point of contact and she was great, her attitude was great. She also explained to me what CITY BLOCK was and our model. From that point I knew everyone else will be great as well. I love it here at CITY BLOCK and what we do for Members. Overall experience was GREAT!!!

The interview process started with an initial phone screening, followed by a 45-minute interview with the Manager. Then, there was a 45-minute interview with the entire team. After that, I had to complete a case study, which involved creating a presentation and an Excel model. The final round was a presentation of the case study, which was supposed to be an hour but ended up being 90 minutes because they had more questions. The questions asked weren't too challenging. Despite completing the entire process, which took about 7 weeks, I received an automated rejection email. I reached out to the manager for feedback but never heard back, which was inconsiderate. Notably, the first round interviewer didn't show up initially, and I had to wait 20 minutes before being informed they were unavailable and had to reschedule. It's frustrating to go through so many rounds and then be ghosted without feedback or a personal rejection.

I applied online and heard back for an interview about a week later. The interview itself felt really unprofessional and strange, with the hiring manager asking questions that seemed out of touch with research experience, like 'what is your experience working with quantitative data?'. When I responded that as a researcher I've used quantitative data extensively and asked for clarification on what they were looking for (specific analyses, filtering, etc.), they cut me off and told me to focus on just one example. It felt like they might have been looking for candidates with less experience. They said they'd follow up in two weeks, but I never heard back. About three weeks after the interview, I received an automated rejection email. It was a really unprofessional and odd experience overall.
