Quantitative Trading Intern
Started with an online assessment, then had two rounds of interviews with traders focusing on general probability and market making games. This was followed by an in-office onsite interview which included a group game and three more interview rounds covering statistics and probability. The game was also similar in concepts. It was a very traditional quant process.
- Questions on probability and statistics
- Questions about market making strategies
- Questions related to quantitative trading
Software Engineer
The interview process overall was good. I've successfully completed the initial round, which involved a problem-solving question on HackerRank. The task was to optimize given code from O(n^2) to O(n) complexity. The specific problem was related to the 'Best Time to Buy or Sell Stock', a problem I've encountered on LeetCode before. I'm awaiting feedback from the hiring team within a week after submitting my solution.
- The overall interview was good. I've just cleared the first round of the interview, which was a problem-solving question on HackerRank to optimize the given code from o(n^2) to o(n). The problem is based on: "Best Time to Buy or Sell Stock" which I already solved in LeetCode. Once I submit it, I will get the feedback from the hiring team in a week.
Trading Intern
It started with an online assessment that had 10 probability questions. These were mostly simple dice and coin flip problems, and I think you had about 25 minutes for it. Then came the first round interview, which covered similar probability questions but specifically about casino games. The second round focused on market making. I'd really practice these because they ask a lot about logic, risk parameters, and how you should bet based on changes in continuous versus stationary distributions.
- Could you set up a market for the total of three dice rolls?
Quantitative Trader
The whole process had three stages. First, there was a timed online assessment covering probability, combinatorics, mental math, and estimation. Then, a short recruiter call to check on fit and motivation. Finally, a virtual onsite with several rounds, each lasting 30 to 45 minutes, focusing on market making, risk-reward tradeoffs, brainteasers, data interpretation, and teamwork. They made a decision in about a week.
