The interview process was pretty straightforward. There was only one round of interviews with the supervisor, though this can differ depending on the department. They asked basic questions covering both research skills and administrative duties. The interview itself took about 30 minutes, and then there was a skill test afterward. It was a pretty good experience overall, and I was glad there weren't a bazillion rounds of interviews.

I submitted my resume and CV, and they got back to me in under two weeks. After that, I had two interviews with the manager and some team members. I didn't have a specific HR call until later when they discussed benefits. I eventually got an offer.

It was a multistage interview with 5 other candidates and multiple writing tests. They tested my workflow management and product innovation skills. The process was lengthy with no large scale transparency and a high volume of applicants.

It depends on the project's topic, but it's mostly to get to know you and your interests and see how they align with what they're looking for in the role, not just professionally but also academically. Besides writing, they also look at engagement and communication skills, including interpersonal skills.
