First a recruiter call, then a take home assignment where I had 3 days to do some financial modeling. Then there was a 1st interview where they tested my excel skills on a call. Finally, a 2nd interview where I had to present the take home assessment.

Overall, the interview process was pretty standard for a market manager role, involving about 3-4 interviews including an initial phone screen. Everyone I interacted with was really nice, and they did a good job of keeping me updated on the next steps, so I never felt left in the dark about when I'd hear back.

I've bought from Casper before and saw they were hiring junior designers, so I applied. They initially wanted to interview me but then said they found someone else, which was fine. But then every year since, they've looked to hire and kept saying I wasn't a good fit, which was weird because their work seems pretty entry-level. Last month, a recruiter contacted me about an opening. I referred someone I knew who had exactly the experience Casper wanted and presented her projects so well, perfectly matching Casper's expectations, that even the recruiter said it was the best she'd seen. The next day, Casper passed on my friend with no explanation. So the recruiter reached out to me again, and this time I applied, even though I have way less startup experience than my friend. Unsurprisingly, even with my 10+ years of senior experience in retail, corporate, and DTC design, Casper also passed on me without giving any reason. I have no idea what Casper is looking for, but good luck to anyone else who has a better experience than we did.

I applied for the Product Compliance Coordinator role back in September and got an email pretty quickly asking when I could do a phone chat. The first interview was about half an hour and seemed to go well. The very next day, the recruiter emailed asking for times to chat with the person I'd be reporting to. On the morning we were supposed to talk with the hiring manager, the recruiter messaged saying the manager had an emergency and we'd need to reschedule, which was fine. My interview was set for the next Monday. But again, that day the recruiter messaged saying there was an update about the position and we needed to reschedule again. He said he'd get back to me with more info. A few days went by, so I followed up for an update. The recruiter finally replied a few days later saying he had a meeting that day to discuss the role and again said he'd get back to me. It's been over a month since then, and I've seen the job posted again a few times. I understand not everyone is the right fit, but not sending a rejection after I put in time interviewing and preparing is pretty rude. Ghosting candidates is disrespectful. We're still in a pandemic, and I thought we'd learned to treat people better. This shows me it's not a company I'd want to work for. Thanks Casper for helping me avoid a bad situation. I can take my time finding a good next step instead of rushing into another bad work environment.
