I found the job online and HR got back to me within a week. I had two phone calls with different managers, which was fine. Then came the in-person interview, which was supposed to be 3 hours. I was hoping for some good technical questions, but it didn't quite go that way. First, I met with HR who asked about why I'm looking to change jobs, if I'm interviewing elsewhere, if I'd accept an offer, and my salary expectations. Next, I met the VP who skipped technical questions and focused on professional fit, asking me to describe myself in three words and if I'm willing to interact with non-technical teams and customers. Then, I met three managers, one of whom was the hiring manager. Again, only professional fit questions. The hiring manager talked about wanting employees to constantly learn new technologies to be ready for future job switches. I asked another manager what he liked most about working there, and he talked about everything except the actual work. Finally, I met an engineer who also asked only professional fit questions; I barely remember that part, it was quite dull. In total, I spent 3 hours interviewing without a single technical question, which makes me think about the bad Glassdoor reviews.

I was referred by an employee and contacted by the tech recruiter within 24 hours for an initial interview. I mentioned I was overseas on vacation, which wasn't an issue for scheduling a call with the hiring manager. The HM call went well, and she wanted me onsite upon my return. The tech recruiter kept me updated and even mentioned another potential role. A week later, the initial recruiter informed me the first position was closed and a new one was open with the campus recruiter. The tech recruiter emailed the campus recruiter to facilitate an onsite interview based on the HM's recommendation. After returning, I followed up multiple times with the campus recruiter about scheduling the onsite, but received only an automated rejection. Surprisingly, I later learned from the HM that the campus recruiter had reported I withdrew from consideration. I'm extremely disappointed with this experience at Carbonite.

I applied online and the first step was an HR phone call where we talked about pay and my past work. Next, the hiring manager called and we discussed the job more, which felt like it went well. The following week, there was a 2-hour meeting with two hiring managers and the HR person. I thought the HR person was pretty rude and asked some invasive questions. The hiring managers asked questions about what I'd be doing in the job.

I got an email from the recruiter asking if I was still interested. Then I had a phone screen with the Team Manager. After that, since the role was for Frontend, they invited me for an onsite interview. I had five in-person interviews with the engineers on the team, and they mainly focused on basic JavaScript.
