Behavioral Technical Coding

First, I had a chat with the hiring manager where we went over my resume and they asked me to go a bit deeper into one of my projects. Then, I did a one-hour coderpad interview with a Staff Engineer. The task was to build out some functionality based on a few requirements and ensure all unit tests passed. The engineer seemed a bit nervous and struggled a bit with the code and explaining the tasks, making it a little unclear at first and taking up some time to complete. The coderpad platform also had some weird syntax issues.

The interview process started with a brief video chat with the hiring manager. Then, there was a 60-minute technical interview using CoderPad. This interview simulated a real-world scenario, including pre-built tests and four levels of difficulty, where passing each level's tests allowed progression. Following that, a system design interview was conducted, and the process concluded with a behavioral interview.

The interview process was intense but very fast for what it is. I had to do a test, then 3 interviews with 3 different people, all via zoom. Two of the interviews were back-to-back. Each part was a half hour, making it 2 hours of interviewing total. From setting up the first interview to their final decision, it took a week. I've seen similar processes with slower companies, so that was good. You don't feel like you're waiting around. They seem very selective even for their lower-paid entry-level jobs. I got the impression from the head operator they are looking for a personal connection with the interviewee.

Behavioral Technical

An Internal Recruiter reached out via LinkedIn. We had a phone call, followed by a video chat with the hiring manager. The subsequent video calls with another sales rep and the CEO also seemed to go well. Even though they asked direct questions, they were vague about the solution the role involved selling. I shared my current salary early on and was upfront about my expectations for an offer. After checking my references, they offered me a base salary almost 20% less than I'm currently making. Their approach was unprofessional and frankly insulting. Save yourself the time and don't bother applying here.

Given a carSpeed and an initialState string representing cars moving left ('L') or right ('R') on a road, implement a Snapshot method. This method should return a time series of road states as snapshots, where 'x' denotes a car and '.' an empty space. The simulation continues until all cars have moved out of the camera's view, and the final state should be an empty road.

Find the average time for each route-courier combination [1,9.5], [2,50] etc. Find the lowest score for each courier. The score is the difference b/w the average and the fastest time for that route.
