First, I had a chat with the hiring manager where we went over my resume and they asked me to go a bit deeper into one of my projects. Then, I did a one-hour coderpad interview with a Staff Engineer. The task was to build out some functionality based on a few requirements and ensure all unit tests passed. The engineer seemed a bit nervous and struggled a bit with the code and explaining the tasks, making it a little unclear at first and taking up some time to complete. The coderpad platform also had some weird syntax issues.

The interview process felt unorganized. Initially, I was asked to provide my availability for an interview, and then it was scheduled without any prior information. The Google Calendar invite just said 'Interview with Capsule' with no additional details. I had to inquire with the organizer to confirm that the first step was a brief recruiter introduction call. However, when the scheduled time arrived, the recruiter did not show up or contact me at all, which seemed like a significant red flag and indicated poor organization.

The interview process consisted of one phone round and an onsite interview. The onsite included questions about system design, specifically a logistics design problem the company had faced, and also managerial and behavioral questions. The interviewers were genuine and enjoyable to talk with.
