The interview was chill and went well. I chatted with the HR person about my background, projects I've done, what I'm good at, and my English skills. The interview itself was in Russian. Nothing too wild or out of the ordinary was asked. She also gave me the lowdown on potentially relocating.

I had an initial recruiter call for an entry level role. They mentioned they're looking for someone with at least 1 year of experience and that I'd be facing some tough competition. It made me wonder if true entry level jobs even exist anymore. Even though I have over 3 years of experience, they said my skills were 'transferrable but not applicable'. The recruiter was friendly and asked about my background, but it was pretty obvious I wouldn't be moving forward. If I had, the next step would've been a one-hour video interview with the hiring team.

I applied for a job at CADMUS group concerning drinking water regulation. The recruiter I spoke with was very impolite and intrusive. She dismissed my inquiry about higher salary and claimed I lacked experience even though she didn't seem to understand the position. I felt like I was wasting my time as she seemed disinterested and refused to answer questions. She promised to follow up but never did. The experience was disappointing.

The whole thing took about two weeks, and it was all remote. First, I had a 30-minute intro phone call with the hiring manager. Then, there was a 1-hour video interview with two people from the Energy Cost Efficiency team. I heard back from the hiring manager about whether I got the job the week after that. The questions weren't too technical; they mostly focused on my past experience with data analysis and if I'd done predictive analysis.

Confirmed questions3 questions
  • How do you handle working under a deadline?
  • Tell me about how you've used data analysis in the past.
  • Have you ever done any predictive analysis?
