I got past their initial phone screening, which was mostly about how I've used programs in past research. Then I had an interview at their portland office. I met one-on-one for about 45-60 minutes with the hiring manager to discuss the job details. She then revealed that the role would involve a lot of cold calling, which wasn't what I was looking for. After that, three other people, including a new team member, joined for another interview. They all seemed professional and happy with their jobs, and it felt like a real company. I ended up taking a different job because I'm not interested in cold calling people for research questions.

I had a phone screen with the recruiter, and then two rounds of in-person interviews. The recruiter was really quick to reply to my emails, but the whole thing took more than two months, which felt like a long time. The first phone call was pretty straightforward, just discussing my background and experience. The in-person interview was typical, and I felt it went okay, but I didn't end up getting an offer. They did let me know I didn't get the offer though, which is better than just being left in the dark.

First, a recruiter called me to screen me. Then, I had a phone interview with two hiring managers. After that, I had to do a writing assessment. The last step was an on-site interview with 4-5 people from the team. No technical stuff was asked in any of the interviews, but everyone was super nice and showed me a lot of cool things.
