I applied for a job at CADMUS group concerning drinking water regulation. The recruiter I spoke with was very impolite and intrusive. She dismissed my inquiry about higher salary and claimed I lacked experience even though she didn't seem to understand the position. I felt like I was wasting my time as she seemed disinterested and refused to answer questions. She promised to follow up but never did. The experience was disappointing.

The first interview was with the hiring manager. Then I came in a second day and was interviewed by 4 people separately. Only one of the interviews had any structure to it, but they seemed keen on helping me understand the culture. I interviewed with two principals and two project leads, one who had started as an analyst. It was mostly informal discussion.

After a phone screen, I had a face-to-face interview. The phone screen was to confirm I understood that consulting is different from being an employee and that I was okay with working more than 44 hours a week. The face-to-face interview was several hours long, and I met with more than 5 people. They were assessing my potential performance on various projects, and the interview felt relatively easy.
