The interview process was professional, clear, and straight to the point, with a very friendly approach. Let's dig in to see why the second response is more powerful. To start, the word "helped" (which is seen in the first response) is vague. To an interviewer, this could mean that you presented a list of powerful ideas—but it could also signify that you were a near-silent participant on a conference call to discuss the campaign. The second option uses a more active verb—a person generating ideas is deeply involved in the project. Plus, powerful adjectives are added; not only did you come up with ideas, but they were good ones!

Applied to the company, HR reached out to schedule an interview. The interview time passed without contact, and then an hour later they called, apologized, and asked if I could interview immediately (which was after normal working hours). I said no and asked to reschedule. We had the interview the next day, though the interviewer was a bit late and kept getting interrupted. The interview was pretty standard, but some questions felt a bit negative. They took almost two weeks to let me know I didn't get the job.

I got the invite 10 days after applying and went to the Hoboken office, which was clean and organized with a nice view of the Hudson River by a river park. The whole thing took about 45 minutes. First, I talked to an intern associate who asked general questions like 'tell me about yourself' and 'why you applied'. Then I met the analyst manager. He asked about private equity, funds, buyouts, and financial reports. Finally, there was a 30-minute test with simple math and verbal questions, not too hard. I got the offer a week later.

I got an email from the internship coordinator and then went to the interview. It was a face-to-face interview with the coordinator and the manager of the team. They didn't ask tricky questions, just fundamental ones about basic financial concepts and stuff. After the interview day, I got an offer right away. Oh, and there might have been an aptitude test if you played your cards right, which was super easy.
